While preparing the “package” 3D project, almost all the assets/setting paths can be used with relative paths, but in some cases, it requires you to use an absolute path. For example, projects with Anima plugin; Substance assets; some type of alembic cache in Maya; Corona 4k cache in Cinema 4D; etc. Which are required to use absolute paths?

SuperRenders farm provides a feature named **Simulate Local Path **which helps you simulate the absolute paths and solves the issue when rendering on a cloud render farm.

A specific example is your 3DS Max project named “myprojecttest”, you placed all of my assets into the folder named “myprojecttest” but Corona 4K Cache required an absolute path to “D:\projects\mybuilding\myprojecttest\my_uhd.4k”. In this case, to make rendering successful on SuperRenders farm, you have to simulate this absolute path on the farm.

To simulate an absolute path is to create the corresponding folder on the farm, then upload files/folders into the folder. There are 2 ways to upload files/folders with the absolute path to SuperRenders Farm

Method # 1. Upload absolute path to SuperRenders Farm with SuperRenders Client App:

The ways to render 3ds Max on SuperRenders are as follows:

Method 1: Using the SuperRenders desktop application

Download and install the SuperRenders application on your computer.
Open your project in 3ds Max.
In 3ds Max, select “SuperRenders” from the menu to open the project submission plugin.
Review and adjust the render settings as instructed.
Submit your project to SuperRenders.

Method 2: Rendering on the SuperRenders website

Log in to your SuperRenders account on the website.
Create a folder in SRF Spaces and upload your project.

After signing up SuperRenders account, you can submit your render job directly from your 3D Software by following the steps:

Below is the detailed instruction:

STEP 1. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL SUPERRENDERS CLIENT APP

Sign in to our website (https://superrendersfarm.com/account/sign-in) and download our SuperRenders Client app. The download link can be found in the top panel of the render dashboard (see image below).

Creating a test render job with After Effects on Super Renders Farm is quite simple.

Follow these steps as below:

1. Prepare the project

To correctly render on our farm, this step is crucial. Open your project in **After Effects **and prepare it for rendering here

Make sure that your project does not contain any missing assets.

Each missing asset will lengthen job render time and can cause problems when rendering.

Note: Video assets – please be careful when using MOV assets in your project. We recommend using image sequence as often as possible because that is the most reliable solution based on our experience.

Prepare your desired composition settings – resolution, frame rate and duration time.

When rendering to frames, we strongly recommend using round numbers (i.e 30 frames per second instead of 29.97).

Select composition and add it to AE render queue.

Our system will prepare and send only the compositions added to the AE render queue. Any other compositions that are used in the scene will be ignored.

Preparing a File for Rendering

Ensure your file has been properly set. If not, set the project folder up. Open the Maya file that will be rendered. Ensure there are no errors that prevent the file from loading properly.
Use Save As to create a new version of that file that will be used exclusively for rendering on the Render Farm. Save this file as a Maya ASCII.

In this file, change all referenced items to imports through the following method:

Open the Reference Editor by clicking on **File **-> Reference Editor.
Select the first item on the list of references.
In the Reference Editor window, select **File **-> Import Object From Reference.

If a window appears asking about Namespaces, select Delete Namespaces.
Repeat for each item until the list is empty, close the reference editor, and save the file.
Note: Importing references can speed up render and lower ram usage significantly, but it may also cause shaders to break or create other errors. If such errors occur, and re-assigning shaders result in an “ error parsing arguments ” message, a file containing references may be used as a last resort.

Make sure all textures are correctly linked to their corresponding shaders. To do this quickly while Maya is open, go to Window-> **General E
